Week 5 Picks

Arizona @ (+1.5) St. Louis
Joe: ARI. Yeah we missed the deadline but this is who I picked on sites that matter. Oh wait, there's no deadline??? SWEET!!! I can't lie, still picked the Cardinals. Who knew the NFC West was so awesome?
Mike: AZ. I've heard from my brother that the Cardinals are good.
Final: STL by 14 (xx) Off to another good start!!

Cleveland @ (-9.5) NY Giants
Joe: NYG. Classic Giants let-down game except for one small problem, the Browns are in town. Coming off of a near victory in Baltimore, Cleveland will hang around in the first half seemingly destined for another cover before the Giants realize they have more Super Bowl wins in the last 5 years than Browns have playoff wins in the last 20 years.
Mike: CLE. Nah, it'll be the opposite. The Browns are going to jump out to a quick lead, scoring a touchdown on their first possession for the first time since 1994. Subsequent TAINTS and four Cribbs' punt returns for touchdowns seal the 62-9 Cleveland win. But just to be safe, I'll also take the points.
Final: NYG by 14 (J) Almost nailed it. That 14-0 and 17-3 lead was awesome!! (for about a minute)

Miami @ (-4.5) Cincinnati
Joe: MIA. Going with the upset here only because I was forced to start Tannehill in not 1 but 2 fantasy leagues this weekend. So that means a 34-3 Bengals win and 4 INTs for the rookie QB. Yay me!!
Mike: CIN. Joe might be the only person in America starting Tannehill, voluntarily, in two separate fantasy leagues. And he wonders why he's middle-of-the-pack or worse in all his leagues.
Final: MIA by 4 (J) Never doubt Tannehill!! Except in fantasy, I lost in both leagues and he was dropped.

Green Bay @ (+7.5) Indianapolis
Joe: GB. Indy will play inspired ball in honor of their recently diagnosed coach but inspiration alone doesn't score touchdowns and that's what they would need to keep up with the Packers. It's about time Green Bay lays 40 on someone and it may be in this one.
Mike: GB. Indy is capable of scoring three touchdowns. GB is capable of 10.
Final: IND by 3 (xx) Indy did play inspired...for a half. Luck(y) for them it was the 2nd half and the Packers decided to stay in the locker room. Going out on a limb but I'm saying Andrew Luck is the real deal.

Baltimore @ (+4.5) Kansas City
Joe: BAL. This seems like a lock so it will probably be a FG game.
Mike: BAL. Yeah, I agree. Ravens in a huge blowout. (God, I hope we're wrong. Let's go JCharles!)
Final: BAL by 3 (xx) Terrible, terrible game in every way

Philadelphia @ (-3.5) Pittsburgh
Joe: PHI. I think we find out that Pittsburgh is too old and slow in this game. At least that's what I hope. I'm sick of their crap.
Mike: PIT. We already know Pitt is old and slow. But the football gods continue to smile down upon the Rooneys, the family that has always been the opposite of the Modells.
Final: PIT by 2 (J) I will take the points with this Philly team that finds some shocking way to turn the ball over every week. Still sucks PIT made the FG at the end.

Atlanta @ (+3.5) Washington
Joe: WAS. After a lucky comeback win last week, Atlanta is due for some football god revenge. Maybe. If Washington can stop them.
Mike: ATL. The Falcons are too good to lose to Coach Shanny.
Final: ATL by 7 (M) Mike finally gets on the board!!! Although it took a rally and RGIII's head being Tysoned in to the turf.

Seattle @ (-3.5) Carolina
Joe: SEA. Matt Flynn may make a 2nd half appearance in this one. Hopefully that happens soon so Russell Wilson can be placed firmly behind Weeden in the rookie QB rankings.
Mike: CAR. Russell Wilson is in no danger of being benched. Seattle will be thrilled to be an 8-8 team.
Final: SEA by 4 (J) Another prediction firmly on point, Michael.

Chicago @ (+5.5) Jacksonville
Joe: CHI. Good playoff teams take care of business in games like this and that's exactly what I think the Bears are. "They are who we thought they were."
Mike: CHI. It's been 25 years since Dah Bearse became a national catch phrase. Jacksonville needs one of those. Daaaaaa Jags.
Final: CHI by 38 (JM) Moving on

Tennessee @ (-5.5) Minnesota
Joe: MIN. I was SOOOO looking forward to the Ponder v Locker match up. Stupid separated shoulders. Remember when Chris Johnson was good and this would be about him vs Peterson?? I'd almost feel bad for him if it wasn't for his teeth. Wait, that's not it. Gross!
Mike: MIN. If I didn't wait until five minutes before kickout, I'd have something to say.
Final: MIN by 23 (JM) There is nothing to say except Tennessee is bad

Denver @ (-6.5) New England
Joe: DEN. I hope it's a close game and the Pats don't win by 30. I'll still take Manning and the points.
Mike: NE. This will not be a blowout. Close to the final minute when the Pats score -- and more importantly, cover the spread.
Final: NE by 10 (M) I'm surprised when you get one correct now

Buffalo @ (-9.5) San Francisco
Joe: SF. Fitzpatrick vs SF D = Beatdown.
Mike: BUF. If the Browns had never moved back, I might have evolved into a Bills fan. I like that Buffalo is as lifeless and hopeless as northeastern Ohio.
Final: SF by 42 (J) Has there ever been a worse pick than Buffalo here??

San Diego @ (-3.5) New Orleans
Joe: NO. Anytime you can take a winless team vs a 3-1 team and give points, you have to do it. One of these weeks the ripping of Norv will finally come to fruition. What better time than when he has to visit the House of Bounties on a record-setting night for Brees?
Mike: NO. Yeah, changing my pick to the Saints. No way will they go 0-5. They're still looking to sneak into a wildcard spot.
Final: NO by 7 (JM) Norv being Norved

Houston @ (+7.5) NY Jets
Joe: HOU. TEBOW TIME!!!!!!!!!!
Mike: HOU. Uh, no. No Tebow time. This loss will land squarely on the shoulders of that Sanchez guy.
Final: HOU by 6 (xx) That was nice of Houston to take it easy on national TV

Week 5 Standings
Joe 8-6  (36-41 overall)
Mike 5-9 (32-45)
