SEATTLE (pick 'em!) vs DENVER
M: SEA. I get it. America loves Peyton Manning. But it's a game with 92 players suiting up and I think Seattle's are better. The defense is better. The running back is better. And depending upon how Manning plays in cold weather, the mobile Russell Wilson just might be better. Manning drives the Broncos downfield for the go-ahead score -- but a Steven Houschka field goal wins it, 34-31.
J: DEN. I really went out on a limb in my preseason predictions having both these teams as #1 seeds and meeting in the Super Bowl. Yes, I'm THAT good. I think all the cold weather crap is just that, crap. As any analyst will say, it's the wind that causes problems not temperature. With the forecast for the 30s and low wind, Manning will do his thing just as if he was playing anywhere else. I do think Seattle will take an early lead fueled by emotion and maybe a turnover but Manning is the best player in the league at adjusting to what he sees on the field. He'll put up numbers as he has all season and win his 2nd Super Bowl with big 2nd half totals. 34-24 Broncos in a game that will feature more offense than expected.
Final: Seattle 43-8. It was never close. MIKE ran away with the picks this year. Congratulations me!
