Week 1 Picks

Miami (-0.5) @ Cleveland
Mike: CLE. The eight straight home opener losing streak ends today.
Joe: CLE. New Cleveland Baby!! Where we strive for .500.
FINAL: Miami 23-10. Every negative adjective can be used here to describe the Browns/Weeden's performance. No doubt in my mind the first Cleveland pick next year will be a QB.

Atlanta (+2.5) @ New Orleans
M: NO. The over/under on this game should be 80.
J: NO. I'll take the over.
FINAL: New Orleans 23-17. Luckily we don't do over/unders too.

New England (-6.5) @ Buffalo
M: NE. Pats will struggle this year and still be twice as good as Buffalo.
J: NE. Pats will not struggle this year and may win the Super Bowl.
FINAL: New England 23-21. Pats struggled and are not twice as good as Buffalo.

Cincinnati (+3.5) @ Chicago
M: CIN. It's a new system for the Bears and it might be good in the long run but I don't expect them to win in Week 1.
J: CHI. I wanted to pick Cincy but I can't agree on everything. Plus, let's see the Browns be in first place alone after week 1.
FINAL: Chicago 24-21. Those damn half points get me every time. At least the Browns are tied for first.

Minnesota (+3.5) @ Detroit
M: DET. Funny that there are 106 men involved in this game and I boil it down in my head as Peterson vs Megatron.
J: DET. You love anything involving 106 men.
FINAL: Detroit 34-24. Really this was all about Bush.

Tennessee (+6.5) @ Pittsburgh
M: PIT. Boooo.
J: TEN. The black and yellow decent begins.
FINAL: Tennessee 16-9. Words cannot express my feelings of happiness about the way this Pittsburgh season is heading.

Oakland (+6.5) @ Indianapolis
M: IND. Colts win by 30. But I'd love to see Pryor turn into the next big thing.
J: IND. Oakland will almost cover the spread with late computer assisted offense but a pick 6 puts it away.
FINAL: Indianapolis 21-17. So close to a perfect prediction for Joe but still a loss.

Kansas City (-2.5) @ Jacksonville
M: KC. The only game this year that both teams view as their easy win.
J: KC. Kansas City will make the playoffs.
FINAL: Kansas City 28-2. Gabbert's injury probably helps the Jags offense.

Tampa Bay (-1.5) @ New York Jets
M: TB. Not a good year to be a Jets fan.
J: TB. Unfortunately the media didn't leave when Tebow left.
FINAL: New York Jets 18-17. Just when you couldn't hate the Jets more they pull out the crap win of the week.

Seattle (-2.5) @ Carolina
M: SEA. This year I'll do the opposite and pick the Seahawks every week.
J: SEA. Russell Wilson won't be as good but the D will be great.
FINAL: Seattle 12-7. The Seattle D was great & Wilson was just good enough.

Green Bay (+4.5) @ San Francisco
M: GB. Aaron Rodgers and points? Yes please.
J: SF. There won't be many points to get.
FINAL: San Francisco 34-28. Too many points. Wouldn't it be nice to see Matthews do the flying out of bounds dive on to Ben/Flacco/Dalton?

Arizona (+5.5) @ St. Louis
M: STL. This is the game where I'd rather watch a What Not To Wear rerun.
J: ARI. I'm Carson Palmer's only fan.
FINAL: St. Louis 27-24. Actually a really good game. Welcome back to fantasy relevance Larry Fitzgerald!!

New York Giants (+2.5) @ Dallas
M: DAL. Giants always start slow.
J: DAL. How 'bout them division winning Cowboys?!?
FINAL: Dallas 36-31. 6 turnovers would count as a slow start. Still, the Cowboys did their best to blow it.

Philadelphia (+4.5) @ Washington
M: PHI.  Redskins overachieved last year while Eagles underachieved. It evens out this year.
J: WAS. Home opener at night. I'll take the home team.
FINAL: Philadelphia 33-27. That Philly offense is crazy... For a half. Maybe Griffin should have played a live snap leading up to the opener.

Houston (-2.5) @ San Diego
M: HOU. I'll read all about this on Tuesday morning.
J: HOU. San Diego will be one of the bottom 3 teams this year.
FINAL: Houston 31-28. Even after getting rid of Norv, the Chargers find a way to get Norved.

Week 1 Results
Joe: 9-7
Mike: 7-9
