Week 2 Picks

Cleveland (+6.5) @ Baltimore
Joe: BAL. There couldn't be more of a lock this week in my mind. Last Sunday was so disappointing (even as a Browns fan) that it will be hard to pick the Browns in any near future game. I see this game going back early (pick 6 style) and getting worse from there. Maybe even a Hoyer/Campbell sighting in the 2nd half. 37-10 Ravens.
Mike: BAL. yeah, obviously we would like to see an upset. But without Phil here to bounce one over the cross bar, the odds are slim. I'm scouting NCAA quarterbacks now for Aprils draft.
FINAL: Baltimore by 8. And with that, talks of the draft (QB in particular) take over Northeast Ohio. First up, some kid named John

St. Louis (+7.5) @ Atlanta
J: STL. Atlanta is desperate to not start 0-2 but the Rams are a little better than given credit for. The Falcons will hang on to win but not cover the points.
M: ATL. Falcons play well at home. I bet.
FINAL: Atlanta by 7.  That dreaded half point strikes again.

Carolina (-2.5) @ Buffalo
J: CAR. Battle of two good/bad teams. They won't beat anyone great this year but they'll both finish near .500. Carolina's D wins this game for them.
M: CAR. The Bills still reeling from last week's letdown vs Patriots.
FINAL: Buffalo by 1. So this EJ Manuel thing could be real. Nothing like a TD pass with 2 seconds left for the win. Wonder what it's like to not kick a FG EVERY F'ING TRIP TO THE REDZONE!!!

Minnesota (+6.5) @ Chicago
J: CHI. This year's team for major regression, Minnesota Vikings.
M: CHI. I didn't need to Ponder this decision.
FINAL:  Chicago by 1. Picking up right where we left off last season. Luckily, we do this for free.

Dallas (+2.5) @ Kansas City
J: KC. Still feeling Dallas will win their division but not feeling them this week in the Chiefs home opener. Alex Smith makes less mistakes than Romo, who shockingly will give the game away in the fourth quarter.
M: DAL. Chiefs will be the worst home team this week.
FINAL: KC by 1.  Mike wins "Worst Prediction for a Correct Pick" award

Washington (+7.5) @ Green Bay
J: GB. That's way too many points but there's something not quite right with RG3 yet. Packers home opener equals double digit win.
M: GB. Watching Griffin get tossed around like a rag doll last week was the first time I got over the Browns missing out on trading for his draft pick.
FINAL: Green Bay by 18. Aaron Rodgers is good.

Tennessee (+9.5) @ Houston
J: TEN. Tennessee is better than we think, not good, but better. Meanwhile, what the heck were the Texans doing almost losing to the terrible Chargers before the curse of Norv took over? The Titans keep it close but Houston moves to 2-0.
M: HOU. Texans can put up a lot of points, even against overrated defenses.
FINAL: Houston by 6 in OT. Houston hasn't been impressive in their 2 wins but I'd rather be where they're at than 0-2.

Miami (+3.5) @ Indianapolis
J: MIA. The Colts are incapable of blowing anyone out and that Miami D is pretty good. This comes down, once again, to Luck making the plays in the end.
M: IND. You're crazy. Colts by ten plus.
FINAL: Miami by 4. Another spot on prediction for Mike.

San Diego (+7.5) @ Philadelphia
J: PHI. The Chargers had their chance last week to get their season started off right. Now it comes off the rails quickly with an early start on a cross country trip to Philly. 44-20 Eagles.
M: PHI. You're way way off. 45-14 Eagles.
FINAL: San Diego by 3. So anyone can be a little off with a prediction.

Detroit (-0.5) @ Arizona
J:DET. Basically a pick'em game (in case you don't understand how spreads work) and I'm going with the team on the rise. OK, so I think they're both on the rise but on the day HE IS RISEN Ndamukong Suh knocks the Bejesus out of Carson Palmer.
M: ARI. That Air-y, not are-y.
FINAL: Arizona by 4. I have no idea what you sentence sounds like or means.

New Orleans (-3.5) @ Tampa Bay
J: NO. You lose to the Jets, you will not be picked the next week.
M: NO. I try not to pick done teams playing outdoors but this is an exception.
FINAL: New Orleans by 2. Once again, spot on.

Denver (-5.5) @ New York Giants
J: DEN. Please stop saying Manning Bowl. Almost as bad as the Har-bowl. Makes me wonder what it would be like to have a real QB.
M: NYG. Browns are scouting Cooper.
FINAL: Denver by 18. Browns should be scouting Cooper. Bradley Cooper. Heck, Riley Cooper would be an upgrade.

Jacksonville (+6.5) @ Oakland
J: OAK. Sure Chad Henne will probably cover and ruin my life but I can't pick Jacksonville until they score any offensive point.
M: JAX. Raiders win but Jags hang in there. Low scoring game.
FINAL: Oakland by 10. Shockingly, even Chad Henne couldn't lead the Jags to 10 points. The ratings for a Jags-Browns game would be amazing.

SUNDAY NIGHT
San Francisco (+2.5) @ Seattle
J: SEA. I have no idea what to do here but I love the Seattle crowd and their liberal laws so I'm going with them.
M: SEA. I didn't realize you were so pro-gay marriage.
FINAL: Seattle by 26. Tolerance and Acceptance. Isn't that what the NFL is all about??

MONDAY NIGHT
Pittsburgh (+7.5) @ Cincinnati
J: CIN. Suck it Pittsburgh
M: PIT. Sincerely, the Miller Brothers.
FINAL: Cincinnati by 10. This guy is 0-2. I'm starting to tear up.

Week 2 Results
Joe: 10-6
Mike: 5-11
