New York Giants (+7.5) @ Chicago
Mike: NYG. I have a hard time believing that the Giants are really this bad, so I'll continue to take them every week. It's the reverse of last year when I refused to believe Seattle was that good.
Final: Chicago 27-21.
Sunday Games
Detroit (-2.5) at Cleveland
FINAL: Detroit 31-17. No Comment
Cincinnati (-6.5) at Buffalo
FINAL: Cincinnati 27-24 OT. Thad Lewis > Brandon Weeden
Oakland (+9.5) at Kansas City
FINAL: Kansas City 24-7. KC remains one of two unbeatens, both hailing from the AFC West.
Carolina (+0.5) at Minnesota
FINAL: Carolina 35-10. Ron Rivera lives to see another week.
Pittsburgh (+0.5) at NY Jets
FINAL: Pittsburgh 19-6. Thank God I didn't see any of this game.
Philadelphia (-1.5) at Tampa Bay
Joe: PHI. Mike Glennon is not the answer in TB, but neither is Schiano. Not a good combination.
Mike: PHI. Since the huge showing in Week One, the Eagles offense has been struggling. This is the week they bust out.
FINAL: Philadelphia 31-20. So now, Foles or Vick?
Green Bay (-2.5) at Baltimore
Mike: BAL. Sure, I'd like to see the depleted Packers win this one, but the Ravens always seem to find a way to spoil things.
FINAL: Green Bay 19-17. This was looking real good for Joe when it was 16-3 Packers. I just hate Flacco a little bit more.
St Louis (+8.5) at Houston
Mike: STL. David Bromstad's doppleganger is better than Taint Schaub.
FINAL: St. Louis 38-13. Schaub's pick-6 streak ended, Yates started anew. I cannot believe the Texans are this bad. So Kubiak first Head Coach to go??
Jacksonville (+27.5) at Denver
Joe: JAX. They're 40 points better but Manning and Fox aren't out to embarrass Jacksonville in this one. Expect a lot of backups in the 2nd half and a couple spread covering TDs from Henne to his actually decent WRs.
Mike: JAX. This is it. This is the reason why we pick games with the spread instead of straight up. Is the best team in the NFL really a touchdown-per-quarter better than the worst team in the NFL?
FINAL: Denver 35-19. An actually somewhat entertaining game. If the Jags ever find a QB, this Blackmon guy is going to be awesome.
Tennessee (+13.5) at Seattle
Joe: TEN. They are a different team at home and coming off a loss I really want to take Seattle but I'd rather just pick opposite of you.
FINAL: Seattle 20-13. Tennessee would be a really frisky team is Locker was healthy.
New Orleans (+2.5) at New England
Joe: NE. Again for terrible reasons, I'm taking the Pats. Maybe I still have alcohol in my system from yesterday or maybe I just still have faith in Brady. They may start slow but in the end Gisele's husband pulls out a win. Oh yeah, and his house has a moat.
FINAL: New England 30-27. Game of the Year so far. Pats should have lost twice, Saints couldn't run out clock, Rob Ryan couldn't stop Brady a third time, Jimmy Graham puts up a donut, and Belichick apologizes to media for them having to reprint their story ending. Other than that, not much happened.
Arizona (+11.5) at San Francisco
Mike: SF. I'm no fan of the Bengals but the way Carson Palmer extricated himself out of Cincinnati was unforgivable. I still can't believe the Raiders traded what they did to get him. Tangent aside, you will not see me root for Palmer anytime soon.
FINAL: San Francisco 32-20. That f'ing half point again. Arizona played well enough to cover and if Andre Ellington is still on waivers in your league, pick him up.
Washington (+6.5) at Dallas
Mike: DAL. Last year was a fluke for the Redskins and this year they're paying for it. And who will reap the reward? The Rams.
FINAL: Dallas 31-16. Is this the year for Romo?
Monday Night Football
Indianapolis (+1.5) at San Diego
Joe: SD. Isn't that actually 2 certain things?? I'm going to keep rooting for the Colts to lose every week as well as for Luck's neckbeard to grow it's own beard. It already has its own Facebook page and Twitter account.
FINAL: San Diego 19-9. The only certainty with our picks is that they're terrible.
Week 6 Results
Mike: 7-8
Joe: 5-10
