Week 9 Picks

Thursday Night
New Orleans @ (+3.5) Carolina
Joe: CAR. I think the Saints win and go on to capture this terrible division but it will be closer than a field goal.
Mike: NO. Agreed. Except for the last part.
Final: NO by 18. Happy Halloween, LaVar.

Sunday Football:
SD @ MIA (-2.5)
Mike: SD. The whole West Coast playing on East Coast curse is dead.
Joe: MIA. These 2 teams have been killing me one way or another, so I'll try the other way.
Final: MIA 37-0. Uh, I guess I was totally wrong on that.

JAX @ CIN (-10.5)
Mike: JAX. Ask Cleveland about this point spread.
Joe: CIN. AJ Green is back and will more than make up for the spread. Florida teams don't like playing in 30 degree weather.
Final: CIN by 10. The dreaded half-point....

TB @ CLE (-6.5)
Mike: TB. This will be the typical boring Cleveland game, where they'll be down 9-6 at halftime, then tack on a few more field goals to extend the lead and have just enough to hold on for the win. As much as I would like Brian Hoyer to turn into a QB monster, we all know it's not going to happen. I think Manziel takes the job by the end of the year.
Joe: CLE. I think the opposite once again. TB is last in every category. The offense will score in the 30s and the defense will for multiple turnovers. When was the last time the Browns were 3-1 at home?
Final: CLE 22-17. Mike's prediction was spot-on. A game of field goals, Browns have lead, lose lead, get lead back in 4th quarter and hang on. Hoyer not spectacular but keeps away from mistakes.

WASH @ MIN (-0.5)
Mike: WAS. The 2007 Gatorade Texas Boys Track & Field Athlete of the Year is back!
Joe: WAS. I guess Washington will win, I won't be paying attention.
Final: MIN by 3. Robert Griffin made a few nice plays, much to the chagrin of his jealous teammates, but not enough for the win. At least they didn't trade away their 2015 first round pick.

PHI (-1.5) @ HOU
Mike: HOU. Better question, will JJ Watt dress up like LaVar Arrington next year?
Joe: PHI. Until Houston upgrades QB they won't beat good teams. Maybe they just need someone in White Face like Lavar.
Final: PHI by 10. Not sure what happened in this game. Texans need a QB.

NYJ @ KC (-9.5)
Mike: KC. Saw a story recently about how the Jets are the only NFL team not to be the most popular team in any given US county. Maybe New Yorkers aren't so dumb after all.
Joe: NYJ. No, they are dumb. The Jets just suck. I do think Vick will get them some points this week even turning it over 4 times.
Final: KC by 14. Jets without a turnover, just really bad bounces.

AZ @ DAL (-3.5)
Mike: ARI. Tony Romo and friends can not be happy about everybody saying he can play Sunday so long as he can tolerate the pain. Way to have your quarterback's back, Jerry.
Joe: ARI. BRANDON WEEDEN!
Final: ARI by 11. You said it: Weeden isn't even good enough to be a backup QB. Yes, he can sling it but he has no touch, no accuracy. Still, he's a winner.

STL @ SF (-10.5)
Mike: STL. Too many points to take SF, one of the more inconsistent teams this side of Lake Erie.
Joe: SF. The Rams can't score away from the dome.
Final: STL in upset 13-10! The Rams have knocked off both teams, the Seahawks and 49ers, from the NFC Championship game.

DEN (-3.5) @ NE
Mike: DEN. Who retires first? Manning or Brady? I'll bet anything they won't retire during the same off season because they won't want to be inducted into the HOF at the same time.
Joe: NE. I hope they do. I want to see Garappolo vs Osweiler.
Final: NE smashes DEN 43-21.

OAK @ SEA (-14.5)
Mike: SEA. I can't believe I'm giving more than two touchdowns but we've seen that Oakland is more terrible than Seattle is great. Does that make any sense?
Joe: SEA. This will get very ugly, but I'll be rooting for the Raiders.
Final: SEA by 6 in an ugly game.

BAL (-1.5) @ PIT
Mike: BAL. One of those games where you root for injuries and suspensions.
Joe: PIT. Don't they always play 1 point games?
Final: PIT by 20. Ravens win the battle for the basement.

Monday Night Football
IND (-3.5) @ NYG
Mike: IND. This is the game where the spread should be 14.5. Games like this will turn Giant fans into Jets Bills fans.
Joe: NYG. I still think they Giants can score, not sure why.
Final: IND by 20 or something like that. The worse part was the Giants scoring a TD in garbage time, and that TD reception by some no-name TE for the Giants cost me a win in my money league.

Final:
Mike: 7-6
Joe: 5-8
