Week 1 Review - Thursday Prediction

I'm the positive glass-half-full Browns fan, so after the week 1 debacle that was my locks and my Browns' optimism I've got nowhere to go but UP!!!

I was ready to flush my Browns' feelings down the drain after their ridiculously called and terribly played 1st quarter of the season opener. As bad as it was they were still only trailing 7-0. Then, in the 3rd quarter, if RG3 (RIP) drops in a simple pass to a wide open receiver in the endzone the Browns lead 14-13 and the game takes an entirely different turn.

I expect Josh McCown the complete that kind of pass and many more this Sunday in the Cleveland home opener against Baltimore. With a few more sustained drives and a few less inexplicable drops, the awful defense spends less time on the field and doesn't get so exposed.

This leads me to remain somewhat optimistic (for now).

Pick Review
Chicago (+6) @ Houston - My Pick - Houston, 24-23. What Happened - Houston 23-14. I really thought I had a winner here. Then the 4th quarter happened. Also, I had Will Fuller on my bench in 3 fantasy leagues.

Miami @ (-10.5) Seattle - My Pick - Seattle 34-17. What Happened - Seattle 12-10. Guess I'm the only one that didn't pay attention to Seattle not having an offensive line. Russell Wilson provided more late heroics but will he (and his ankle) hold up?

Pittsburgh @ (+3) Washington - My Pick - Washington 33-31. What Happened - Pittsburgh 38-16. I hate the Steelers so much but Antonio Brown is sooooooooo good. And we need more of this.

New England @ (+6) Arizona - My Pick - Arizona 27-16. What Happened - New England 23-21. So you're telling me the Belichick guy is good?? OK, I'm listening.

Cleveland (+4) @ Philadelphia - My pick - Cleveland 27-23. What Happened - Philadelphia 29-10. I hate the depressing, negativity that is the Cleveland media and (most) fans. To me, the missed throw from Griffin and the bad snap from Erving were the game changers. Easy mistakes to correct .

Week 1 - 0-6
Season - 0-6

Thursday Night Pick
New York Jets (+0.5) @ Buffalo - My Pick - New York Jets 20-13. Give me that Jets D line against a not-so-strong Bills offense. The Jets played right with the Bengals on Sunday and Buffalo does not have an AJ Green type on their offense, especially with Sammy Watkins playing through a painful foot injury. The Rex Ryan hot-seat gets a little warmer after this one.
