Washington (-1.5) @ Minnesota
Joe: MIN. No real reason. Just the fact that the NFC East is terrible and at some point AP will go for 200. Why not when no one is watching on a terrible Thursday night game?
Mike: MIN. Agreed. The 1-7 Vikings aren't any worse than the 3-5 Team From Washington. Is it just me, but does Robert Griffin III look like a rag doll every time he gets hit? I bet he never plays 16 games a season.
FINAL: Minnesota 34-27. I was correct that no one watches and Mike will be proven correct with his RGIII predictions.
Sunday
Jacksonville (+12.5) @ Tennessee
M: JAX. As bad as they've been, they're still an NFL team. Surely they can cover against a subpar Titan squad.
F: JAX 29-27. Jaguars get off the schnide with their first win of the year. Meanwhile, the Titans might not win another one. Let the race for the #1 pick begin.
Philadelphia (-1.5) @ Green Bay
J: PHI. Having witnessed the Seneca Wallace era first hand in Cleveland, I think its safe to say he's no Aaron Rodgers. I don't have to double-check my facts.
M: PHI. Nick Foles (and dozens of other QBs) are significantly better than Wallace.
F: PHI 27-13. Wallace didn't even have a chance to show how bad he is. Instead, the fragility was on full display.
Buffalo (+2.5) @ Pittsburgh
M: PIT. I will still be rooting against them but they're home and playing Buffalo. Let's be real.
F: PIT 23-10. Steelers remain firmly in the AFC North basement.
Oakland (+7.5) @ New York Giants
J: OAK. The Raiders got thrashed last week by Nick Foles, but Eli Manning is no Foles. They may not win but they'll keep it close throughout.
M: OAK. The Giants will start stringing together some wins in the second half but the Raiders will keep it close.
F: NYG 24-20.
St. Louis (+9.5) @ Indianapolis
J: STL. The Rams can't score but their D-Line is still pretty good. I'm still rooting for upsets against what's looking to be a 12-4 Colts season despite the terrible play of Trent Richardson.
F: STL 38-8. Wow. I didn't see that one coming. Colts still on path for playoff spot.
Seattle (-4.5) @ Atlanta
M: SEA. Will the 12th man travel all the way to Georgia?
F: SEA 33-10.
Cincinnati (-1.5) @ Baltimore
J: BAL. This game is about helping the Browns, so GO RAVENS!!!
F: BAL 20-17. Took overtime. For a while it looked like it might end in a tie.
Detroit (-0.5) @ Chicago
J: DET. I'll take Stafford's Mighty Shoulder over Cutler's Groin.
M: DET. Calvin is pretty good.
F: DET 21-19.
Carolina (+6.5) @ San Francisco
J: CAR. In what should be the day's best game, the Panthers prove their worth as a legit NFC playoff team.
M: CAR. That's what I say.
F: CAR 10-9. Based upon the final five minutes that I watched, we were right.
Houston (+3.5) @ Arizona
F: ARI 27-24.
Denver (-7.5) @ San Diego
M: DEN. You're so silly. 45-17.
F: DEN 28-20. That half-point gets you every time.
Sunday Night
Dallas (+6.5) @ New Orleans
J: NO. I hope this stays close but I believe in night game voodoo magic in Louisiana.
M: NO. That, and a defense that Jerry Jones didn't want to be so aggressive. What a stupid thing for a GM to say.
F: NO 49-17. That game was ugly from the beginning. (Because Jason Garrett was on TV.)
Monday Night
Miami (-2.5) @ Tampa Bay
J: TB. Give me the Bucs bullying their way to an easy victory on Monday Night.
F: TB 22-19. Both winless teams notched a victory this week. Good for them. Let's all remember that the Detroit Lions will remain the worst team in NFL history.
J: 9-5
M: 10-4
