Indianapolis (-3.5) at Houston
Mike: IND. Too bad J.J. Watt doesn't play offense. Oh, he does? Still won't be enough.
Final: IND by 5. Well, it was competitive. So you get a non-existent bonus point.
Sunday:
Pittsburgh at Cleveland (-1.5)
Joe: CLE. This is the week we find out the Browns are for real.
Final: CLE BIG!!! You can thank me for not picking the Browns which would have totally jinxed things. Wonder when the last time Cleveland was a favorite AND covered the spread. 1964?
Denver (-10.5) at NY Jets
Joe: DEN. I believe the Jets will get pounded & Rex might not finish the season.
Final: DEN by 14. I hope you're right.
Jacksonville at Tennessee (-5.5)
Mike: JAX. The Jaguars will be better than the Titans every year for the next ten years.
Joe: JAX. Bold statement that no one will remember or keep track of.
Final: TEN by 2. Jags missed a 55 yard FG at the end of the game -- in which they left 12 seconds on the clock and could have tried to get closer. Way to go, Jags.
Chicago at Atlanta (-3.5)
Mike: CHI. I still think the Falcons are a playoff caliber team and with the Saints and Panthers struggling, the division is within reach. Somebody call Tony Gonzalez and bring him back!
Joe: CHI. I'm off the Falcons.
Final: CHI by 14. Yeah, you're right again. Falcons kind of sucked.
Green Bay (-3.5) at Miami
Final: GB by 3. It certainly wasn't a blowout as the Pack needed a final moment TD pass for the win.
Detroit (-1.5) at Minnesota
Mike: DET. I kinda feel bad for Adrian Peterson, getting caught up in the cultural divide over child discipline. I get it. He's old school. Kinda like Michael Vick not realizing that dog fighting isn't as socially acceptable as it was back in the 1880s.
Joe: DET. No sympathy felt over here.
Final: DET by 14. You're more the type to need sympathy, not give it.
Carolina at Cincinnati (-6.5)
Mike: CAR. I picked up Mohammed Sanu for this game. Dalton's gotta throw it somewhere.
Final: A FREAKING TIE. That's going to muddle up things at the end of the year. Sanu came through for my fantasy team though with 10 rec for 120 yards and a TD. Ironically, my fantasy team also tied.
New England (-3.5) at Buffalo
Joe: NE. The Patriots demise is severely overrated. Orton's stache on the other hand, unquestionably underrated.
Final: NE by 15. Definitely went for the reach taking Buffalo. Lesson learned.
Baltimore (-3.5) at Tampa Bay
Mike: BAL. Let's just say that the Ravens are about to smack down the Bucs.
Final: BAL by 31. Total smack down. It's not that the Ravens are good. The Bucs are the Worst.
San Diego (-7.5) at Oakland
Final: SD by 3. Our picks are not going very well.
Dallas at Seattle (-8.5)
Mike: DAL. I'll take those points but I don't think this game will be that close.
Joe: DAL. I don't think your reasoning makes sense.
Final: DAL by 7. Nothing I do or say makes sense.
Washington at Arizona (-3.5)
Mike: ARI. There was a reason Kirk Cousins was taken in the fourth round.
Joe: ARI. You convinced me last week the 'Skins are terrible.
Final: ARI by 10. Washington is more terrible than Arizona is good.
NY Giants at Philadelphia (-2.5)
Mike: PHI. My top two running back draft picks were LMcCoy and RRice. Here's to hoping one of them is redeemed before too long.
Final: PHI 27-0. Answer: I play in a league against you.
Monday Night
San Francisco (-3.5) at St. Louis
Mike: SF. If the 49ers are going to take out their aggression on anybody, it's going to be the soon-to-be-Los-Angeles-again Rams.
Joe: SF. Weird that the Giants & Cardinals are playing too. San Fran sweep.
Final: SF by 14. Always go with the road team on MNF.
Mike: 10-5
Joe: 9-6
